After a long time of not updating the site, I thought I'd post something. Here is something I've been working on, it's nothing spectacular. It's actually more for texturing practice. This is pretty low poly model, a game model actually, roughly 2.3k, no smoothing, no normal maps, what you see is the actual 2300 poly's. I'm trying to work on texturing and working out some of the kinks and trying to figure out what works and what doesn't. Ultimately what I'm trying to do is learn as much from this as possible and use that on a hi-poly head. This image is a screen capture straight from the viewport with a little post in PS. There are a lot of things that needs fixing, especially the eyes, but it is what it is. ;-)

Sorry for the lack of updates on the website. I've just been extremely busy with work. However, this is not to say I haven't been working on any personal work. I have been steadily working on something, it's just that progress has been painfully slow. Trust me, I'm trying to get it done as fast as possible but it's still going to take some time. Hopefully it'll be done soon and I can finally update the site with something new. Stay tuned.

More torso sculpts. This one is about 1-1.5 hrs. The idea for these is to get myself comfortable with the anatomy. I'm doing each part one by one and when I feel like I've had enough, I'll move on to the next part. Ultimately I want to be able to sculpt a full figure with correct anatomy, form, and flow.

More torso sculpts. This one is about 1-1.5 hrs. I tried playing around with the form a bit and I feel like I'm learning a lot from doing these.

More quick torso sculpts done in Zbrush. I think this is an improvement over the last. This one took approx 1 hr.

I found some free time over the weekend so I decided to do some torso sculpts to practice my anatomy and more importantly practice form and flow. These are really rough and I'm sure there are tons of mistakes but this is why I practice. I've learned quite a lot from this and hopefully the next few sets will improve considerably. This was done from a very rough basemesh and took about 2.5 hours. (yeah, slow I know)

Updated Twitch with some hair and fixed some his proportions. Final Demo Reel, for the time being, is up. Feel free to check it out!

Uploaded my demo reel. It's the same as the one on the pre-run show. Just testing quicktime codecs and whatnot.

Updated the monkey. I moved that model over to Zbrush 3 to get a little more detail on him and corrected some the volumes around his mouth. So much to do, so little time. :-(

I upload some new versions of Sam and Twitch. I'm glad I could get Sam on the demo reel because he turned out great. There's a few more things I want to do before he's finished. Unfortunately, Twitch wasn't completely finish for the demo reel so I had to turn in a 80% model, but the good news is I've manage to find some time after turning in the demo reel that I was able to bring him to a more "complete" level. Check out the gallery to see them both!

After I had a chance to play around with some of the features of Zbrush 3.0, I decided to redo my Sam model. I wasn't sure if I was going to use him on my reel because he wasn't at the level I wanted him to be because I sculpted him from a box and topology became an issue. But I was messing around with retopology in Zbrush and it became apparent that I could redo him very quickly, and that's what I did. Check out the Gallery for the new Sam Wip.

I just had a chance to try out the new Zbrush 3.0 and I was skeptical before but I must admit, this piece of software is AMAZING! The amount of poly's you can push is insane and this doesn't slow down your computer. I was messing around and I made this in 20 min, the amount of detail possible is far beyond anything I have ever been able to achieve before.

I added a WIP of my monkey model to the gallery. There's still lots to be done. More models are on the way. Keep checking back every week.

Added to the gallery an updated version of the forest scene and a NEW car scene. The car scene is still a WIP because there's still a lot of things to be done.

I did a complete rewrite of the site so now it should load a lot faster and have less glitches - hopefully.
